The race “La Solitaire du Figaro” is coming !!

La Solitaire du Figaro – Eric Bompard Cachemire is a one-design racing, unassisted, at times, which takes place in stages. Each step is a race. Classification at each time step and the overall time to award points championships of France Offshore Racing Solitaire. The first race was in 1970. This race is celebrating this year is 45 birthday.
The four stages are :
- Deauville (Fr) – Plymouth (UK) – Plymouth (UK) – Roscoff (UK) - Roscoff (UK) – Les Sables d’Olonne (FR) - Les Sables d’Olonne (FR) – Cherbourg Octeville (FR)
The boat for this race is the Beneteau Figaro 2
This Figaro Bénéteau 2 is the first real “one design for offshore racing” of category 1 (OSR norm).It is transoceanic, without derogation to the safety regulations. From this point of view, it does not bear any competition neither European nor worldwide. In other words, it is unique!It is a modern boat as per the use of high-tech materials and the building process selected which makes it a one design close in spirit to the single-hulled boats racing the Vendée Globe or the Volvo Race.

- First stage departure 8 June – Second stage departure 14 June – Third stage departure 22 June - Last stage departure 29 June
Flagship event of the Beneteau Figaro Circuit, the Solitaire du Figaro is now THE benchmark for all sailors wishing to compete single-handed with equal opportunity. It is a legendary race, which has lost nothing of its magnificence since it was created 45 years ago. All the racers now recognize that this event is essential in single-handed racing and also a great source of pleasure
